Why This Recipe Stands Out
Cooking Hints
- Stir the granola occasionally while baking to ensure even browning.
- Use pure maple syrup for the best natural sweetness and aroma.
Step 1
Lightly heat your oven to 250Β°F (120Β°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet with sides or spray a large cake pan to keep the granola from sticking. In a big bowl, mix together the oats, almonds, wheat germ, coconut, and sunflower seeds. In another bowl, whisk the maple syrup, brown sugar, oil, water, and salt until everything is blended. Pour this liquid mixture over the dry ingredients and stir well so everything gets nicely coated.
Step 2
Spread the mixture evenly on your prepared pan. If you like chunkier granola, press small handfuls together to form little clumps. Pop it in the oven and let it bake for about an hour and 15 minutes, stirring every now and then to make sure it toasts evenly. Once itβs golden and fragrant, stir in the raisins. Let it cool completely before storing in an airtight container at room temperature.
