Helpful Tips For Cooking
- Donβt overmix the meat to keep the texture tender.
- Let the meatloaf rest for a few minutes before slicing to hold its shape.
Directions
Gently heat your oven to 350Β°F. Lightly grease a loaf pan to keep things from sticking. Spread a thin layer of ketchup on the bottom of the pan, then sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the ketchup. In a big bowl, mix together the ground beef, crushed crackers, eggs, chopped onion, minced garlic, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until everything is well combined. Shape the mixture into a loaf and set it right on top of the brown sugar layer. Lay the bacon strips over the top in a crisscross pattern or however you like. Pop the pan into the oven and bake for about an hour, until the meat is cooked through and the bacon is nice and crispy. Let it rest a few minutes before slicing and serving.
