Expert Cooking Tips
- Simmer the sauce gently to let the flavors blend and thicken without burning.
- Adjust the spices to your liking, adding more smoked paprika or chili powder for extra depth.
Directions
Stir together the tomato paste, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, fish sauce, liquid smoke, paprika, smoked paprika, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, turmeric, cinnamon, and water in a 10-inch skillet over medium heat. Stir everything frequently as the mixture comes to a boil. Once itβs boiling, turn the heat down to a gentle simmer. Keep stirring every now and then and let it cook uncovered until it thickens up to your liking, which should take about 20 minutes. When itβs almost done, sprinkle in some cayenne pepper to add a bit of heat. Take the skillet off the heat and let the sauce cool completely before using.
