Tips From The Kitchen
- Use medium heat to cook the chicken evenly without burning the sugar.
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes after cooking to keep it juicy.
Step 1
Lightly heat your oven to 450Β°F (230Β°C). Line a baking dish with foil and give it a light spray of cooking oil to keep the chicken from sticking.
Step 2
In a small saucepan, warm up the oil over medium heat and add the garlic. Let it cook for about 2 minutes until it smells amazing. Turn the heat down a bit, stir in the brown sugar, and keep stirring until it melts into a nice syrupy sauce, around 3 minutes.
Step 3
Place the chicken breasts in the baking dish and pour the garlic-brown sugar sauce all over them. Sprinkle some black pepper on top for a little kick.
Step 4
Pop the dish into the oven and bake for about 30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink inside. If you have a meat thermometer, it should read 165Β°F (74Β°C) near the bone. Let it rest a few minutes before serving.
