Cooking Tips You Should Know
- Wrap the ham tightly around the asparagus to keep bundles intact while cooking.
- Prepare the hollandaise sauce just before serving to keep it smooth and warm.
Step 1
Whisk the sauce mix and milk together in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Once combined, add the butter and bring everything to a gentle boil, stirring until the butter melts and the sauce becomes smooth. Turn the heat down and let it simmer for about a minute, stirring now and then, until it thickens up. Then set it aside to cool a little.
Step 2
Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the asparagus for about 3 minutes. When theyโre tender but still crisp, drain them and immediately run them under cold water to stop the cooking. Pat the asparagus dry with paper towels before moving on.
Step 3
Take a slice of ham and wrap it around four asparagus spears to make little bundles. Arrange these bundles on a serving tray. Once everything is ready, drizzle the hollandaise sauce over the top and finish with a sprinkle of fresh dill for a nice touch.
