What Makes This Recipe So Good
Cooking Pointers
- Sear the chicken well before adding sauce to lock in juices and build flavor.
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or less chili, depending on your preference.
Step 1
Combin the peaches, garlic, orange juice, vinegar, sugar, nutmeg, red pepper flakes, and basil in a saucepan. Bring everything to a boil over high heat, then lower the heat to medium-low and let it simmer gently for about 15 minutes, stirring now and then.
Step 2
While the sauce is cooking, season the chicken with salt and pepper. Lightly coat each piece with flour, shaking off any extra. Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then add the chicken. Cook it until both sides are nicely browned but the inside is still a little pink.
Step 3
Give the peach sauce a taste and season with salt and pepper as needed. Pour the sauce over the chicken in the skillet. Bring it back to a simmer, then turn the heat down to medium-low. Cover the pan and let it cook for another 15 minutes or so, until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink inside.
