Why This Recipe Is So Flavorful
Smart Cooking Tips
- Donβt overcook the shrimp; they only need a few minutes until they turn pink.
- Stir the sauce gently and keep the heat low to prevent it from separating.
Directions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Drop in the pasta and cook it for about 4 minutes, or until itβs just tender. Drain and set aside. While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a big skillet over medium heat. Toss in the shrimp and cook them for about a minute on each side until they turn pink. Add the garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant, then take the shrimp out with a slotted spoon and set them aside. Stir in the flour and Cajun seasoning into the butter and garlic mixture, cooking and stirring for about 5 minutes to get rid of the raw flour taste. Slowly whisk in the milk and keep cooking until the sauce thickens up. Take the pan off the heat, then season with salt and a squeeze of lemon juice to brighten things up. Finally, stir the shrimp back into the sauce and spoon everything over your cooked pasta.
