Better Cooking Tips
- Chill all ingredients beforehand to help the trifle set nicely.
- Assemble the trifle gently to keep the layers distinct and visually appealing.
Step 1
Place the cake cubes in the bottom of a trifle bowl. In a large measuring cup, dissolve the raspberry gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water, then stir in 1 cup of cold water. Pour this mixture over the cake cubes and gently press down. Scatter the raspberries evenly on top, then pop the trifle in the fridge to chill for about 45 minutes, until the gelatin is set.
Step 2
Whisk together one package of pudding mix with 2 cups of cold milk for a couple of minutes until smooth. Spread this pudding layer over the raspberries and put the trifle back in the fridge for another 45 minutes so the pudding can firm up.
Step 3
Now, dissolve the cherry gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water, then add 1 cup of cold water. Pour it over the pudding layer and spread the cherries on top. Chill again until the gelatin firms, about 45 minutes.
Step 4
Whisk the remaining pudding mix with 2 cups of cold milk, just like before, and spread this over the cherries. Refrigerate once more until set, around 45 minutes.
Step 5
Finally, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in 1 cup boiling water and stir in 1 cup cold water. Pour it over the last pudding layer and spread the strawberries on top. Let the trifle chill for about an hour until everything is completely set.
Step 6
To finish, spread whipped topping all over the trifle and decorate with any reserved berries. Enjoy!
