Expert Cooking Tips
- Use a low heat setting to let the flavors meld without burning the chili.
- Stir occasionally to prevent sticking, especially near the end of cooking.
Step 1
Heat a large pot over medium heat. Toss in the garlic, onion, habanero peppers, all three kinds of beans, diced tomatoes with green chiles, salsa, chili powder, black pepper, red pepper flakes, cumin, and taco seasoning. Give everything a good stir and bring it up to a boil. Once itβs bubbling, lower the heat, cover the pot, and let it simmer gently.
Step 2
While the chili is warming up, brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Make sure itβs cooked through, then drain off any excess fat. Stir the beef into your pot of chili, cover it again, and let it cook slowly for about an hour so all the flavors can really come together.
