Helpful Cooking Tips
- Swirl the pumpkin mixture gently to create a pretty marbled effect without mixing it all together.
- Avoid overbaking to keep the brownies soft and fudgy.
Directions
Gently heat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and greasing a 9x13-inch baking pan so the brownies donβt stick. In a large bowl, mix together the pumpkin, brown sugar, applesauce, egg whites, and the whole egg. Use an electric mixer on medium speed until everything is well combined. Then, add the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Switch to low speed and mix just until the batter is smooth and evenly blended. Pour the batter into your prepared pan, spreading it out evenly. Pop it into the oven and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Once done, take it out and let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
