Why This Recipe Is So Tasty
Helpful Cooking Tips
- Chill the dough before baking to prevent spreading.
- Add a pinch of cinnamon for extra warmth and flavor.
Directions
Warm your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking sheet to keep the cookies from sticking. In a large bowl, combine the applesauce, butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Beat everything together until the mixture is nice and smooth. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet, stirring until just combined. Then fold in the oats, cranberries, and chocolate chips. Scoop out generous spoonfuls of the dough and drop them onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the cookies turn a lovely golden brown. Once out of the oven, let them rest on the baking sheet for a few minutes before moving them to a wire rack to cool completely.
