Why This Recipe Stands Out
Cooking Tips
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes after frying to keep it juicy.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken is cooked through, aiming for 165Β°F (74Β°C).
Step 1
In a jar, combine the yeast, sugar, and warm water. Give it a good stir, then cover and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes until it gets foamy.
Step 2
In a mixing bowl, add the flour, salt, and the yeast mixture. Mix everything together, then knead until you get a soft, smooth dough. Add the oil and knead again until well combined. Cover the dough with cling wrap and let it rest for about an hour.
Step 3
While the dough is resting, heat some oil in a pan. SautΓ© the chopped garlic for a minute, then add the onions and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Add the ground chicken and cook until it turns white.
Step 4
Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and chili flakes. Toss in the chopped capsicum and cook for another minute. Stir in the cheese and mayonnaise, then turn off the heat and set the filling aside.
Step 5
Once the dough has risen, take it out and divide it into small balls. Lightly flour your countertop and roll out each ball. Place some of the chicken filling in the center, then follow the steps (like in the video) to cut and braid the dough over the filling.
Step 6
Place the braided bread on a baking tray. Brush the top with beaten egg and sprinkle some black seeds on it. Bake in a preheated oven at 180Β°C (350Β°F) for 20-25 minutes until golden and crispy.
Step 7
Let it cool slightly, then enjoy your sandwich with your favorite sauce!
