Why This Dish Is So Satisfying
Tips From The Kitchen
- Double coat the chicken in the breading for extra crunch.
- Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying to avoid soggy tenders.
Step 1
Warm your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. In one bowl, combine the flour, basil, chili powder, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and water. Crush your cereal and pour it into a third bowl.
Step 2
Take each chicken tender and first coat it in the flour mixture, making sure to shake off any extra. Then dip it into the egg wash, followed by the crushed cereal, pressing gently so it sticks well. Arrange the coated tenders on the baking sheet.
Step 3
Pop them in the oven and bake for about 10 to 12 minutes on each side, until they’re golden and cooked through with no pink in the middle. Let them cool just a bit before digging in!
