Expert Cooking Tips
- Cook the sausage thoroughly to ensure itβs juicy and safe to eat.
- Add a splash of water or broth while cooking to keep the sausage moist and flavorful.
Step 1
Lightly heat some oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook it gently until itβs soft and translucent, but be careful not to let it brown. While the onion is cooking, mix together the tomato paste, 3 tablespoons of water, brown sugar, salt, cumin, mustard, cinnamon, cloves, and vinegar in a pot. Put it over medium heat and let it simmer for a couple of minutes. Then, stir in the cooked onions.
Step 2
In a small bowl, combine a tablespoon of vegetable oil, curry powder, Hungarian paprika, ketchup, and a cup of water. Pour this mixture into the pot with the tomato sauce and onions, and let it simmer for another two minutes to blend the flavors.
Step 3
Cook the bratwurst in a large skillet over medium heat until theyβre nicely browned on all sides. Once browned, pour the curry sauce over the sausages. Turn the heat down to low and let everything cook together until the sausages are fully cooked through, about 10 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 165Β°F (75Β°C). Serve warm and enjoy!
