Warm your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, combine the flour, poppyseed filling, 2 1/2 cups of powdered sugar, butter, eggs, lemon juice, baking powder, and lemon peel. Use an electric mixer on medium speed and beat everything together until the batter is smooth and well mixed, which should take about two minutes.

Pour the batter into an ungreased 10-inch tube pan and pop it in the oven. Bake for around 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the cake turns a light golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Once it’s done, let the cake cool completely before moving on.

For the frosting, beat 1 cup of powdered sugar with a tablespoon of milk on medium speed for a couple of minutes until it’s smooth and creamy. Drizzle this over the cooled cake and enjoy!
