Cooking Techniques
- Handle the patties gently to keep them tender and prevent them from falling apart.
- Cook over medium heat to ensure the burgers cook through without burning the outside.
Step 1
Set a colander over a bowl and gently breaking up the salmon in it to help drain out any excess liquid. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, then discard the juice and transfer the salmon to a large mixing bowl. Stir in the chopped bell pepper and onion, then add the bread crumbs, eggs, soy sauce, Sriracha, ginger, a teaspoon of sesame oil, mustard powder, and garlic powder. Mix everything together until well combined. Shape the mixture into five patties, place them on a baking sheet, and cover with plastic wrap. Pop them in the fridge for at least an hour, or even overnight if you have the time.
Step 2
When youβre ready to cook, heat some vegetable oil along with another teaspoon of sesame oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully add the patties and lower the heat to medium. Cook them for about 7 to 9 minutes on each side, flipping just once, until theyβre nicely browned and cooked through. Once done, transfer the burgers to a plate and get ready to enjoy!
