Why This Dish Is Hard To Resist
Tips From The Kitchen
- Chill the cookie dough well before mixing it into the fudge to keep the chunks firm.
- Let the fudge set completely at room temperature before cutting to get clean squares.
Step 1
Lin a 9x9 inch baking dish with aluminum foil and set it aside. To make the cookie dough pieces, combine the melted margarine, brown sugar, and salt in a bowl. Stir in the flour until it comes together into a dough, then knead in 1/4 cup of chocolate chips. Shape the dough into a disk about half to three-quarters of an inch thick, place it on a piece of plastic wrap, and gently press it into a square shape with your hands.
Step 2
Pop the dough square into the freezer for about 10 minutes until itβs firm and easy to slice. Once chilled, cut it into half-inch squares and keep these cookie dough pieces in the fridge while you prepare the fudge.
Step 3
For the fudge, beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Stir in the melted chocolate chips and vanilla extract until everything is well combined. Gently fold in the chilled cookie dough pieces, then spread the mixture evenly into the foil-lined dish.
Step 4
Cover and refrigerate the fudge for at least an hour until itβs set and firm. When ready, lift the fudge out of the dish using the foil, cut it into squares, and enjoy!
