Quick Kitchen Tips
- Brown the meat well before adding liquids to develop deeper taste.
- Simmer slowly to allow the flavors to fully meld and the meat to become tender.
Step 1
Heat a large pot over medium heat and lightly spray it with cooking spray. Brown the beef stew meat on all sides, which should take about 5 to 7 minutes. Toss in the onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they start to softenβaround 5 minutes. Next, stir in the water, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, paprika, salt, and mustard until everything is well combined. Cover the pot, lower the heat to a gentle simmer, and let it cook slowly for about 2 and a half hours, or until the beef is nice and tender.
Step 2
While the goulash is simmering, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the egg noodles until theyβre just tender but still a little firm, about 5 minutes, then drain them well. Serve the rich goulash spooned over the noodles and enjoy!
