Tips To Improve This Recipe
- Let the steak rest for a few minutes after cooking to keep it juicy.
- Adjust the seasoning in the sauce to balance sweetness and tanginess.
Step 1
Warm your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). In a small bowl, mix together sea salt, garlic salt, black pepper, brown sugar, powdered honey, cayenne, and red pepper flakes to create a flavorful spice rub. Take about two tablespoons of this rub and generously season your steak all over.
Step 2
Warm some oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Toss in the onions and cook them, stirring occasionally, until they start to turn translucent, which should take about 3 minutes. Add the bell peppers and mushrooms next, cooking everything together until the veggies are tender, roughly another 3 minutes.
Step 3
Push the vegetables to the sides of the pan to clear a spot in the center, then place your seasoned steak right there. Let it cook until itβs nicely browned on one side, about 3 to 4 minutes, then flip it over. Pour in some water, just enough to cover the bottom of the skillet, and cover everything with a piece of aluminum foil.
Step 4
Pop the skillet into the oven and let it cook low and slow for 45 minutes to an hour. Youβll know itβs done when the steak is so tender it easily pulls apart with a fork.
