Cooking Advice
- Keep the brine cold by refrigerating or adding ice to prevent bacterial growth.
- Rinse the turkey well after brining to avoid overly salty skin.
Step 1
Combin the vegetable broth, sea salt, brown sugar, peppercorns, rosemary, sage, and thyme in a large stockpot. Heat it up and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring often so the salt and sugar dissolve completely. Once everything is dissolved, take the pot off the heat and let it cool down to room temperature.
Step 2
In a big 5-gallon bucket, pour in the cooled broth mixture along with water and apple cider vinegar. Give it a good stir to mix all the flavors together. Then, toss in the apples, onion, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic, stirring gently to combine everything. Now your brine is ready for the turkey!
