Why This Meal Is A Winner
Cooking Pointers
- Adjust the amount of spice to match your heat preference.
- Stir frequently to prevent the mixture from sticking or burning.
Step 1
Start by carefully cutting out the cores from the apples, but keep the bottom part intact so they hold their shape. Slice off the tops of the cores and set them aside for later. Use a spoon or a small knife to scoop out the flesh inside the cored area, making a nice hollow without breaking through the bottom.
Step 2
Fill each hollow with a teaspoon of cinnamon candies, a teaspoon of butter, and a tablespoon of brown sugar. Then, pop the top you saved back onto each apple like a little lid. Wrap each apple tightly in aluminum foil.
Step 3
Place the foil-wrapped apples right into the hot coals of your campfire. Let them cook until theyβre soft and gooey inside and the filling has melted β this usually takes about 15 minutes. Once theyβre done, carefully unwrap and enjoy!
