Warm your oven to 350°F (175°C) and get a 9x5 inch loaf pan ready by greasing and flouring it. In a big bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each one. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, nutmeg, allspice, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet, mixing just enough to combine. Then fold in the mashed bananas and vanilla until everything is evenly mixed. Pour the batter into your prepared pan and bake for about 90 minutes. You'll know it's done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before turning it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
