Pro Kitchen Tips
- Use a fork or your hands to shred the jackfruit for a pulled texture.
- If you like it spicier, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce during cooking.
Step 1
Turn on your pressure cooker and selecting the sauté setting. Add a bit of oil, then toss in the chopped onion and bell pepper. Cook them for about 3 to 5 minutes until they start to soften. Once that’s done, switch off the sauté mode and spread the jackfruit evenly over the veggies.
Step 2
In a separate bowl, mix together the tomato sauce, brown sugar, mustard, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, sriracha, vinegar, garlic powder, parsley, salt, and pepper. Pour this sauce over the jackfruit and veggies, making sure everything is nicely coated.
Step 3
Lock the lid on your cooker and choose the slow cook function. Let it cook for around 4 hours. When it’s ready, toast your hamburger buns, pile on the jackfruit mixture, and enjoy your delicious sandwiches!
