Directions
Position one oven rack low and another higher up, then preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). In a large bowl, beat together the brown sugar, butter, egg, and vanilla extract until everything is nice and smooth. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips and pecans so theyβre evenly spread throughout the dough. Drop small spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet, spacing them out a bit. Pop the tray on the lower rack and bake for about 5 minutes, then move it to the upper rack and bake for another 5 minutes or until the edges turn a lovely golden brown. Let them cool slightly before digging in!
