Why This Recipe Stands Out
Expert Cooking Tips
- Use fresh key limes if possible for the best bright citrus flavor.
- Brush the seafood with the butter sauce during cooking to keep it moist and flavorful.
Directions
Blend half a cup of butter with some hot pepper sauce and fresh Key lime juice in a small bowl. Cover it with plastic wrap and pop it in the fridge for at least three hours so the flavors can meld together. When you’re ready to cook, melt a couple of tablespoons of butter in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Toss in the shrimp and lobster tails and cook, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp just turn pink—this usually takes about 2 to 3 minutes. Turn the heat down to medium, then add the mushrooms, garlic, and a splash of white wine. Keep cooking and stirring until the mushrooms soften and release their juices, which should take around 5 minutes. Finally, take the pan off the heat and stir in the chilled Key lime butter mixture until it melts into the sauce, coating the seafood beautifully. Serve it up right away and enjoy!
