Why You'll Keep Making This
Kitchen Tips
- Use sour cream at the end of cooking to prevent curdling and keep the sauce smooth.
- Donโt overcook the mushrooms; sautรฉ them until just browned for the best texture.
Directions
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Toss in the egg noodles and cook them until theyโre tender but still have a bit of bite, about 5 minutes. While the noodles are cooking, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, mushrooms, onion, garlic, mustard powder, salt, and pepper. Cook everything together, stirring now and then, until the beef is nicely browned and the veggies have softened, about 7 to 10 minutes. Drain off any extra fat or liquid. In a small bowl, mix the sour cream, mayonnaise, and beef broth, then stir this into the skillet with the beef mixture. Let it simmer gently for about 10 minutes so the flavors come together. When the noodles are ready, you can either serve them topped with the sauce or stir the noodles right into the sauce before platingโeither way works great!
