Cooking Secrets
- Drain the tuna well to avoid excess moisture in the dish.
- Add fresh herbs like parsley or dill to brighten the flavors.
Step 1
First, heat your oven to 375°F and give a 2-quart baking dish a quick spray with nonstick spray. Next, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the bow-tie pasta until it’s tender but still has a little bite, about 12 minutes. Once done, drain the pasta and set it aside.
Step 2
While the pasta cooks, warm some oil in a big skillet over medium heat. Toss in the mushrooms, onion, celery, bell pepper, and carrot, and cook everything until the veggies are soft and fragrant, roughly 8 minutes.
Step 3
In a large bowl, mix together the Alfredo sauce, sour cream, 2 tablespoons of Parmesan, dill, and some black pepper. Stir in the cooked pasta, sautéed veggies, and tuna until everything is well combined. Pour this mixture into your prepared baking dish.
Step 4
In a small bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs with the remaining 2 tablespoons of Parmesan. Sprinkle this topping evenly over the casserole and give it a light spray of nonstick spray to help it crisp up.
Step 5
Pop the dish in the oven and bake it uncovered for about 25 minutes, or until it’s bubbly and the top is nicely browned. Serve warm with lemon wedges on the side for a fresh burst of flavor.
