Why This Recipe Is So Delicious
Helpful Kitchen Tips
- Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking; aim for an internal temperature of 145Β°F (63Β°C).
- Sear the chops on high heat first to lock in juices, then lower the heat to finish cooking gently.
Step 1
Lightly heat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Beat a couple of eggs in a shallow bowl, and in another dish, spread out some bread crumbs. Dip each pork chop first into the eggs, then coat them well with the bread crumbs.
Step 2
Heat some oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the pork chops in the pan without crowding them and cook for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side, until theyβre nicely browned. If your skillet isnβt big enough, do this in batches. Once browned, transfer the chops to a baking dish in a single layer.
Step 3
In a small saucepan, combine tomato juice, brown sugar, vinegar, cloves, salt, and pepper. Bring it to a boil, then lower the heat and let it simmer gently for about 5 minutes. Pour this sauce evenly over the pork chops.
Step 4
Pop the dish into your preheated oven and bake uncovered for an hour. When itβs done, your kitchen will smell amazing, and the pork chops will be tender and flavorful!
