Why This Recipe Is So Tasty
Kitchen Advice
- Marinate the brisket overnight for deeper flavor and tenderness.
- Cook slowly at a low temperature to break down the tough fibers and achieve a juicy result.
Step 1
Lightly heat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a small bowl, mix together the chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, brown sugar, and meat tenderizer. Rub this spice blend all over the brisket, making sure to cover it well. Place the brisket on a baking sheet with the fat side facing up and pop it in the oven for about an hour.
Step 2
After that hour, take the brisket out and turn the oven down to 300°F (150°C). In a separate bowl, combine the soy sauce and water, then pour this mixture into a roasting pan. Transfer the brisket from the baking sheet into the roasting pan and sprinkle the crushed pineapple evenly over the top.
Step 3
Cover the pan tightly with foil and put it back in the oven. Let it cook for another three hours, until the meat is nice and tender. When it’s done, take it out and let it rest for about 30 minutes before slicing and serving.
