Why This Recipe Works
Helpful Chef Tips
- If the mixture feels too dry, add a little honey or peanut butter to help bind it.
- Chill the bars for at least an hour before cutting to make slicing easier.
Directions
Spray an 8-inch square pan with cooking spray to make sure nothing sticks. In a big bowl, combine the rice cereal, oats, almonds, walnuts, dried cranberries, raisins, and wheat germβgive it a good stir so everythingβs mixed well. Next, put the marshmallows, honey, and corn syrup in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir everything together until it melts into a smooth, gooey mixture, which should take about 5 minutes. Pour that warm mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until everything is evenly coated. Press the mixture firmly into the prepared pan, then let it cool for around 30 minutes until itβs set and firm. Once itβs ready, cut it into 9 bars and pop them into individual sandwich bags. If your kitchen tends to get warm, keep the bars in the fridge so they hold up nicely.
