Why This Recipe Is So Loved
Cooking Tips
- Stir the oats frequently while cooking to prevent sticking and ensure even texture.
- Add a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg to enhance the banana bread flavor.
Directions
In a medium saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg. Heat it gently, keeping an eye on it so it doesn’t boil over. Once it starts to bubble, stir in the oats. Let it come back to a boil, then lower the heat to medium and cook, stirring now and then, until most of the liquid is gone—this should take about a minute for quick oats or around five minutes if you’re using old-fashioned oats. Take the pot off the heat and stir in the mashed bananas and pecans. Divide the oatmeal into bowls, then add a dollop of yogurt on top along with some sliced bananas and pecan halves if you like. Enjoy!
