Tips To Improve This Recipe
- Stir gently when adding the cream to avoid breaking up the gnocchi.
- If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of broth or milk to reach your desired consistency.
Step 1
Warm some olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Toss in the sausage and cook it for about 5 minutes until itβs nicely browned. Then add the mushrooms and onion, letting them soften for around 4 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook just until you can smell that lovely aroma, about a minute.
Step 2
Pour in the wine and stir in the Dijon mustard to mix everything together. Next, add the gnocchi and half-and-half, bringing the whole pan to a gentle simmer. Turn the heat down to medium, cover the skillet, and let it cook for 5 minutes so the gnocchi gets tender.
Step 3
Take the lid off and stir in the spinach and Parmesan cheese. Keep cooking for another minute or so until the sauce thickens up and the cheese melts into a creamy finish. Serve it up on plates and sprinkle with some crushed chili flakes for a little kick.
