Why This Dish Is So Special
Quick Kitchen Tips
- Stir the caramel gently to avoid burning it.
- Spread the mixture on parchment paper to cool evenly and prevent sticking.
Step 1
Grab a big paper bag or a large bowl and toss in the pretzels, popcorn, and peanuts. Set that aside for now.
Step 2
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Stir everything together until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves, then let it come to a boil. Once itβs boiling, keep it going for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly so it doesnβt burn.
Step 3
Take the pan off the heat, then quickly stir in the salt, vanilla, and baking soda. Itβll foam up a bit when you add the baking soda, so use a long spoon and mix it well.
Step 4
Pour this caramel sauce right over your popcorn and pretzel mix in the bag, then give it a good shake to coat everything evenly.
Step 5
If you want your snack a little crunchier, you can either cook the caramel a bit longer before mixing it in, or spread the coated popcorn on a baking sheet and pop it in the oven at 350Β°F for about 10 minutes. Let it cool before digging in!
