Why This Recipe Is So Good
Cooking Tips
- Cook low and slow to keep the meat tender and juicy.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure ribs reach the perfect internal temperature.
Step 1
Heat your oven to 300Β°F (150Β°C). Pour some flour into a shallow dish and coat the ribs evenly by dredging them in the flour. Heat a bit of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat, then brown the ribs on all sidesβit should take about 2 to 3 minutes per side. Once browned, transfer the ribs to a casserole dish.
Step 2
In the same skillet, melt the butter and cook the chopped onion until it becomes soft and translucent, which usually takes around 5 minutes. Stir in the ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, and a pinch of salt until everything is well combined and smooth. Add a splash of water to the sauce and heat it through.
Step 3
Pour this sauce over the ribs in the casserole dish and cover it with foil. Pop it in the oven and bake for 90 minutes, remembering to spoon some of the sauce over the ribs every now and then. After that, flip the ribs over, baste again, and bake for another 90 minutes or until the meat is fall-apart tender. Enjoy!
