Step 1
Place the steam rack inside your Instant Pot and pour in some water. Pop the sweet potatoes onto the rack, then close and lock the lid. Set the pressure cooker to high and let it cook for 10 minutes. It will take about 10 minutes for the pressure to build up before the timer starts. Once the cooking time is up, carefully release the pressure using the quick-release method. After unlocking, take out the sweet potatoes and the rack, drain the water, and put the potatoes back in the pot.
Step 2
Add the butter, raspberry-chipotle sauce, cream, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and a pinch of salt to the sweet potatoes. Mash everything together until smooth — you can use a potato masher or a stick blender, whichever you prefer.
Step 3
Melt some butter in a skillet over medium heat. Toss in the pecans, chipotle powder, and cinnamon, stirring frequently for about a minute and a half until the nuts are nicely toasted and fragrant. Spoon this spiced pecan topping over your mashed sweet potatoes and enjoy!
