Why This Dish Is So Special
Helpful Cooking Tips
- Press the oat mixture firmly into the pan to help the bars hold together.
- Let the bars cool completely before cutting to prevent crumbling.
Directions
Lightly heat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan. In a big bowl, mix the butter and brown sugar together until it’s nice and smooth. Then, add the oats, flour, salt, and baking powder, and stir everything until it’s combined. Take about half of this mixture and press it evenly into the bottom of your prepared pan. Spread the raspberry preserves over this crust layer. Next, crumble the remaining oat mixture on top to cover the jam. Pop it in the oven and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes, or until the top turns a lovely light brown. Once it’s out, let it cool completely before slicing into bars.
