Tips From The Kitchen
- Donโt rush the cooking time; low and slow is key for perfect pulled pork.
- Let the meat rest for a few minutes before shredding to keep it juicy.
Step 1
Season the pork tenderloin with salt, black pepper, and about half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper. Heat some oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, then brown the pork on all sidesโit should take around 10 minutes. Once itโs nicely browned, transfer the pork to your slow cooker.
Step 2
Add a mix of water, brown sugar, cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and a bit of hot sauce to the slow cooker. Let everything cook on low for about 7 hours until the pork is tender and easy to shred.
Step 3
When itโs done, take the pork out and set it on a platter. Drain the cooking liquid but keep about half a cup to use later. Shred the pork with two forks and put it back into the slow cooker. Pour in just enough of the reserved liquid to keep the meat moist and flavorful.
Step 4
While the pork finishes, mix together mayonnaise, white vinegar, garlic powder, lemon pepper, and a tiny pinch of cayenne pepper in a small bowl. Serve this tangy sauce alongside the shredded pork for a delicious finishing touch.
