Why This Recipe Is So Good
Tips From The Kitchen
- Let the chili simmer for at least 30 minutes to develop deep flavors.
- Add spices gradually and taste as you go to find your perfect balance.
Step 1
Cook the ground turkey in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it up as it browns. This should take about 5 minutes. Once it’s cooked through, drain any excess grease and set the turkey aside.
Step 2
In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the corn, celery, onion, and garlic, and sauté everything until the veggies are soft and fragrant, around 5 minutes. Then, add the browned turkey back into the pot.
Step 3
Pour in the tomatoes, salsa, and chicken broth, followed by all the spices—chili powder, cilantro, cayenne, Creole seasoning, cumin, and oregano. Give it a good stir, then lower the heat and let it simmer gently for about half an hour so all the flavors can meld together.
Step 4
After that, stir in the beans and keep the chili simmering for another 15 minutes. Finally, toss in the shredded Cheddar cheese and stir until it’s melted and creamy throughout. Serve warm and enjoy!
