Smart Cooking Tips
- Let the sauce simmer for at least 15 minutes to deepen the flavors.
- Toast the buns lightly to prevent them from getting soggy.
Directions
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks. Once itโs fully cooked, add the chopped onion and bell pepper. Season everything with a bit of sea salt and black pepper, then cook until the veggies have softened, which should take about 7 minutes. Next, stir in the ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, and barbecue sauce. Turn the heat down to low and let the mixture simmer gently until it thickens up, around 10 minutes. Just before serving, mix in some Parmesan cheese for a nice twist. Spoon the sloppy joe filling onto toasted hamburger buns and enjoy!
