Why This Dish Is Hard To Resist
Helpful Cooking Tips
- Let the pork rest for a few minutes after cooking to retain its juices.
- Shred the meat with two forks to get the perfect pulled texture.
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C). Heat a bit of oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. While the oil warms up, sprinkle some seasoned salt on both sides of the roast. Once the oil is hot, sear the roast for about 2 to 3 minutes on each side until it’s nicely browned. Add the garlic and sauté it just until it starts to brown, about a minute, then take the pot off the heat and drain any excess oil.
Step 2
In a small bowl, mix together the teriyaki sauce, marmalade, and water. Pour this mixture over the browned roast in the Dutch oven, then cover it with the lid. Pop it into the oven and let it cook slowly for 2 to 3 hours, until the meat is tender enough to shred easily with a couple of forks.
Step 3
When the pork is ready, shred it right in the pot and spoon the flavorful teriyaki juices over the top before serving.
