Why This Meal Is A Winner
Quick Kitchen Tips
- Make sure to season the steak well before cooking to enhance the flavor.
- Let the pressure release naturally for a few minutes before quick releasing to keep the meat tender.
Step 1
Mix the marinade mix with 1/4 cup water and 1/4 cup oil in a bowl that has a tight-fitting lid. Add the steak, seal the bowl, and give it a good shake so the meat gets fully coated in the marinade.
Step 2
Turn on your Instant Pot and set it to the sautรฉ mode. Pour in a tablespoon of oil to coat the bottom, then toss in the garlic. Take the steak out of the marinade and add it to the pot. Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the meat and squeeze in the lime juice. Cook everything, stirring occasionally, until the steak loses its pink colorโthis should take about 5 to 10 minutes. Once done, transfer the steak to a separate bowl.
Step 3
Pour a little water into the pot and scrape up any browned bits stuck to the bottomโthey add great flavor. Add the sliced bell peppers and onions on top. Close the lid, lock it, and set the Instant Pot to cook on high pressure for 2 minutes. It will take a few minutes to come up to pressure.
Step 4
When the timer goes off, carefully release the pressure using the quick-release method. I like to cover the valve with a towel to avoid any splatter. Once all the steam is out, unlock and remove the lid. Your peppers and onions should be tender and ready to go!
