Why This Recipe Stands Out
Expert Cooking Tips
- Stir the oats well before sealing the Instant Pot® to prevent sticking.
- Let the pressure release naturally for creamier oats.
Step 1
Put the steel cut oats into your Instant Pot or any similar pressure cooker. Sprinkle in the pumpkin pie spice and a pinch of salt. Pour in the water, milk, pumpkin puree, and cranberries, then give everything a gentle stir to combine.
Step 2
Secure the lid and make sure it’s locked. Set the cooker to manual high pressure for 3 minutes. It will take about 10 to 15 minutes for the pressure to build up before the timer starts counting down. Once the cooking is done, let it sit on the “keep warm” setting for another 5 minutes.
Step 3
Carefully release the pressure using the quick-release method, following your cooker’s instructions—it usually takes around 5 minutes. When the lid can be safely removed, open it up and stir in the honey.
Step 4
Scoop the oatmeal into bowls and top each one with a tablespoon of walnuts and a sprinkle of brown sugar. Enjoy!
