Why This Recipe Is So Delicious
Kitchen Advice
- Marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes to let the spices fully absorb.
- Use a grill pan or oven broiler to get a nice char and enhance the smoky flavor.
Step 1
Stir the yogurt with garam masala, chicken masala, coriander, ginger-garlic paste, chili powder, turmeric, and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Set that aside for now. Next, cut your chicken breasts into small stripsโjust the right size to sit comfortably on halved jalapenosโand toss them into the marinade. Give everything a good stir, cover the bowl, and pop it in the fridge for at least half an hour. The longer it marinates, the more flavorful the chicken will be.
Step 2
While the chicken is soaking up those spices, preheat your oven to 425ยฐF (220ยฐC). Grab a baking tray and set a cooling rack on topโthis will help the bacon get nice and crispy. Now, take your jalapenos and snap off the stems by holding each pepper and pulling gently to the side. Slice them in half lengthwise, then scoop out the seeds and ribs with a spoon, being careful to leave the white stem area intact.
Step 3
Spoon some cream cheese into each jalapeno halfโfill them up however much you like. Lay a strip of the marinated chicken over the cream cheese, then wrap each one with a slice of bacon. Place your little poppers on the rack-lined baking sheet, making sure theyโre not crowded.
Step 4
Pop them in the oven and bake until the bacon turns golden and crispy, which should take about 40 minutes. Once theyโre done, let them cool just a bit before digging in!
