What Makes This Recipe So Great
Pro Cooking Tips
- Press the crust mixture firmly into the pan to ensure a sturdy base.
- Let the bars cool completely before cutting to keep the layers intact.
Step 1
Warm your oven to 325Β°F (165Β°C) and lightly spray the bottom of a 9x13-inch pan with cooking spray. In a large bowl, mix the cake mix and butter together on low with an electric mixer until it looks crumbly. Set aside about a cup of this crumbly mixture, then press the rest firmly into the bottom of your prepared pan to form the crust.
Step 2
Using the same bowl, beat the cream cheese and frosting until smooth and creamy. Add the eggs and mix until everything is well combined. Pour this creamy mixture over the crust and spread it out evenly. Sprinkle the reserved crumb topping over everything.
Step 3
Pop the pan into the oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden. Once itβs out of the oven, let it cool completely for about half an hour. Then cover the pan and pop it in the fridge to chill for at least a couple of hours.
Step 4
When itβs ready, cut into 6 rows by 6 rows and enjoy!
