Why This Dish Is So Special
Chef Tips
- Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying to get a crispy coating without absorbing too much oil.
- Pat the fish dry before breading to help the coating stick better.
Step 1
Gently heat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Lightly spray a shallow baking dish with cooking spray and set it aside. Pat the fish fillets dry with a paper towel to help the coating stick better.
Step 2
In a zip-top bag, combine the bread crumbs, seasoning, salt, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Seal the bag and give it a good shake to mix everything together well.
Step 3
In a separate bowl, whisk the milk and egg until smooth. Dip each fillet into this mixture, letting any extra drip off. Then pop the fillet into the bag with the bread crumb mix, seal it, and gently shake until the fish is evenly coated.
Step 4
Place the coated fillets in your prepared baking dish and pop them in the oven. Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
Step 5
Once baked, switch your oven to the broiler setting. Broil the fish for another 5 minutes or so, just until the edges turn golden and crispy. Keep an eye on them so they donโt burn!
Step 6
Let the fish rest for a minute before serving, and enjoy your tasty, garlicky dinner.
