Why This Dish Is So Special
Tips For Better Flavor
- Warm the tostadas before assembling to keep them crisp.
- Add a squeeze of lime juice on top for a bright, fresh flavor.
Step 1
Gently heat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). While thatβs warming up, cook the chicken in a skillet over medium heat. Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the chicken and cook it until itβs no longer pink inside and the juices run clearβthis usually takes about 5 to 7 minutes. If you have a meat thermometer, it should read 165Β°F (74Β°C) in the thickest part.
Step 2
Spread a thin layer of refried beans over each tostada shell, then sprinkle on some Mexican cheese. Divide the cooked chicken evenly over the cheese, and top with chopped tomato, red onion, and bell pepper.
Step 3
Arrange the tostadas on a baking sheet and pop them in the oven. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until theyβre nice and crispy.
Step 4
Once theyβre out of the oven, sprinkle some fresh cilantro over the top and add dollops of salsa and sour cream. Serve right away and enjoy!
