Helpful Chef Tips
- Use a wire rack on your baking sheet to help the wings cook evenly and stay crispy.
- If you like extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili flakes to the harissa mix.
Step 1
Combine the lemon-pepper seasoning and a tablespoon of harissa paste in a bowl. Pat the wings dry, then toss them into a resealable bag. Add the seasoning mix, seal the bag, and give it a good shake, making sure every wing is well coated. Pop the bag in the fridge for at least an hour to let the flavors soak in.
Step 2
When youβre ready to cook, preheat the oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Take the wings out of the fridge and let them come up to room temperature while the oven heats.
Step 3
In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining harissa paste and honey until smooth. Arrange the wings on the baking sheet with the meaty side facing up, spacing them about an inch apart. Brush the exposed side of the wings with the harissa-honey sauce.
Step 4
Bake for 15 minutes, then flip the wings over, baste with the rest of the sauce, and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes, or until theyβre cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165Β°F (74Β°C).
Step 5
If you like them extra crispy, move an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat, turn on the broiler, and broil the wings for 1 to 2 minutes. Just keep a close eye so they donβt burn! Finish off by sprinkling some fresh lemon zest over the wings before serving.
