Why This Dish Is So Special
Practical Cooking Tips
- Stir occasionally to prevent the beans from sticking to the pot.
- Adjust the seasoning at the end to suit your taste.
Directions
Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up and stirring occasionally until itโs nicely browned. Once cooked, drain any excess fat. Add the chopped onion and garlic to the skillet with the beef and cook for about 3 to 4 minutes, until the onion softens and becomes translucent. Sprinkle in the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and parsley, then give everything a good stir and cook for another minute or two to let the spices bloom. Next, pour in the canned beans and mix them well with the beef. Stir in the mustard, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and barbecue sauce until everything is combined. Give it a taste and adjust the seasoning with a little more salt or pepper if you think it needs it. Lower the heat to medium-low and let the mixture simmer gently for about 30 minutes so all the flavors can meld together.
