Why This Dish Is A Crowd Favorite
Cooking Techniques
- Brown the beef in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
- Stir the sour cream in gently to prevent curdling.
Directions
Brown the pork in a large skillet over medium heat. Break it up as it cooks and keep going until thereβs no pink left, about 10 minutes. Next, toss in the onion, green pepper, and garlic. Cook everything together, stirring now and then, until the onion turns translucentβthis should take another 10 minutes or so. Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the mix and stir it in well, then add the flour and give it another good stir. Pour in the beef broth and bring everything to a boil. Let it cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce starts to thicken. Now stir in the mushroom soup and milk, and heat it back up until it boils again. Add the American cheese and cook, stirring, until the cheese melts and the sauce is bubbling nicely, about 5 minutes. Finally, taste and season with salt and pepper as you like, then serve it up while itβs hot.
