Pour in the tomato puree, water, tomato paste, and sprinkle in the sugar. Crumble in the bouillon cube and give it all a good stir. Lower the heat to a gentle simmer, cover the pot, and let it cook for at least 30 minutes, stirring once in a while. If you have time, letting it simmer up to an hour will deepen the flavors even more.
